- Mine broke after a year of light use
I used this blender for making baby food and for soups. It worked well and was easy to use and clean up, but after exactly a year, something at the motor end started rattling and the blades no longer turn - or turn very slowly. Obviously something inside the machine has become dislodged. I'll be trying another model next time.

I've owned this Rival hand blender for several years and recently bought one for a friend and one for my daughter. Gave them with my favorite squash soup recipe attached. It's much faster and less messy to puree in the pot instead of several batches in the blender! Lots of uses with 2 speeds, and super easy to clean under running water.

The motor isn't strong enough to make a smoothie with crushed ice without lumps and chunks.

Great buy for the money. Does the job well. Only thing is that you're not supposed to immerse it in hot food. When I want to blend my soup, the soup is usually hot. I tried using it in hot soup once and it started whining after that. Otherwise, I recommend it.
