Amazon.com Review:
Pancakes, eggs, and bacon somehow taste extra hearty whencooked in a heavy cast-iron skillet. Cast iron creates superior heatretention, heats evenly, and loves a campfire, unlike flimsier pans.Fry up a mess of catfish, roast a chicken, or bake an apple crisp inthis generous 12-inch pan that features two handles for heavy lifting, and two subtle side lips for pouring. While the skillet comespreseasoned to prevent food from sticking, it works best when sprayedor lightly coated with vegetable oil before use. Whether used in akitchen or camp, this virtually indestructible pan should last forgenerations.--Ann Bieri

- Love Love Love
The pan had a pit (-one star), surface is not super smooth and like other reviewers have said the preseasoning is a joke.Still, my love is undaunted.Seasoning is easy. After cleaning with hot water and a scrubby brush, I just place it on the stove on low, and rub some on the surface with a paper towel. Easy cheezy lemon peely.Makes the best fried eggs and fried rice. For my Chinese compatriots, you can get a nice wok char off of this baby. I love that I can turn the electric stove up to high ... - GREAT PAN
As some on else said, this is made for steaks, but really for any meat. That being said, it's just a great pan. You really can't go wrong with Lodge Logic; it is seen as the top cast iron for a reason. It's a good product and I would recommend any Lodge Logic piece to anyone. I would also recommend the griddle...it's great.
If you are going between the 10 and 12 inch pan...get the 12 there's more room for a full steak.

Excellent well-made product. Lodge is the last company in the USA that manufactures cast iron products.

- I love this skillet!
I love this skillet! it heats up hotter and more evenly than any skillet I've ever owned. it's easy to clean too.
but the handles get hot so you have to wear an oven glove any time you use it, so be careful.
and it weighs a ton. but that's ok because the food you cook in it comes out great.

- great pan, but not 12"
We have a 10 1/2" low cast iron tortilla pan, that we would often fry on.Problem was grease would often disperse in the surrounding area.We thought something a little bigger with sides would be perfect. We could then put a splatterscreen on top, as well.
...ordered the pan and was able to use it right awaybecause it was preseasoned. It cooked great! It seemed just as (if not more) cramped for the amount of food cooked, though.I measured it and sure enough the cooking/heating area is less ... Read More
