Amazon.com Review:
When just a basic, simple-to-use rice cooker is what's needed, this one fits the bill. A single switch starts the cooking process, and the keep-warm function automatically turns on when the rice is cooked. With markings in liters and cups, the inner pot features a nonstick finish for easy scooping of rice and cleanup. A stainless steel insert basket is included for steaming vegetables, and the glass lid allows cooking to be monitored. Measuring 9 inches in diameter and 7-1/4 inches tall (with lid inverted for storage), the white enameled cooker comes with a detachable cord, plastic spatula, measuring cup, and multi-language instruction manual. --Ann Bieri

- good stuff
Product arrived in very good condition.Worked like it was supposed to and I'm happy with it.

- Great till it broke.
I bought this rice cooker about a 1 1/2 years ago, and the nonstick coating has been peeling ever since the warranty expired.I contacted Sanyo because I thought they made replacement bowls for the cooker, but they don't.Buy a more expensive rice cooker because they usually make replacement bowls, or go with the Panasonic SR-G10G which has an aluminum pot.
When it was actually safe to use, the rice cooker actually performed very well. The design is very well thought out.Detachable ... Read More

- Lid broke for no good reason
I had high hopes for this simple, small rice cooker. Unfortunately, disaster struck on the first time out. I cooked 2 cups of brown rice without washing it first (my preference). The rice cooked perfectly. There was a little spitting but nothing like the other reviewers describe. I scooped out about a cup to eat and, because the instructions say not to leave the unit on "warm" with a small amount of rice, I turned it off and let the remaining rice sit while I ate. After about 15 minutes or so I heard ... Read More

- Great Multi-purpose product
I love this rice cooker/steamer. The non-stick surface makes clean-up a breeze. It is compact and efficient.

- Mess, Mess, Mess
I don't understand how anyone cooks with this. It blows out an immense amount of gooey steam water! I cooked brown rice, followed directions exactly, even soaking for an hour first. It was only 2/3's of the capacity, but it blew junk out the sides of the lid and out of the little blowhole and left a large puddle of gooey rice water around and under itself. A MAJOR mess.
I haven't even tasted the rice. So what if it's good? You can't cook with an appliance like this unless you put it in a giant sink ... Read More
