This Splendid pressure cooker holds a maximum capacity of 6 quarts of Italian chicken soup or beans with sausage and works on all heat sources. The cooker is constructed of high-quality 18/10 stainless steel with an encapsulated aluminum base for even and efficient heat distribution. For safety, the pressure cooker has dual pressure settings on its handle--one in a dial control and another on a valve. Other safety measures include two pressure release valves and a locking handle to prevent the unit from opening while under pressure. I only rate this product a 4 because the "instruction manual" is a joke.Fagor gives you ONE generic manual that applies to all their models, even if it's wildly inappropriate for this one.For example "the pressure valve will rise, showing you the increase in pressure."Guess what?No pressure "valve" visible on this one.

THIS IS A GREAT COOKER, EASY TO CLEAN AND ALL THE CONTROLS YOU NEED, NOTHING MORE. I ALSO GOT THE STEAMER INSERTS. SUPERB!

I haven't owned a pressure cooker for more than 15 years.I decided to purchase a Fagor after reading many positive reviews.I was not disappointed!I like the ease and the safety features of this model, much better than the older 1970 pressure cooker.The Fagor heats very evenly and quickly. It appears very durable and well balanced.I would certainly buy another fagor.

I am used to a pressure cooker that I could hear the regulator rocking from the pressure to let me know that it is cooking correctly; therefore, I scorched and overcooked food because I was expecting to hear the regulator.If that part wouldn't bother you, it would probably be fine.I am sending mine back.
