When we received this product and plugged it in it made a terrible sound for the first week. It was so bad we contacted the manufacturer, and learned they had discontinued making the item. They offer us a refund if we returned the item. After a few weeks the noise stopped and the kettle has been fine. This is the second kettle we have bought with the first one lasting about 4 years before a bad design element caused it to fail.

A friend recommended this Braun water kettle and it's wonderful!It heats up water in 70 seconds- saves energy and time.I use it for making tea, boullion, and hot water for my dish water.I highly recommend this item!

This our 2nd Braun Electric Kettle, as usual very reliable, easy to fill & clean. Tried other brands but were not very satisfied.

Rating: - Hot Kettle Pot is a hit on the spot
Functionality: generous capacity, boils up quickly.I like the auto- off feature when the boil reaches the peak.Reheats quickly. I am mindful to pour out remaining water to keep the bottom from collecting sediment on the elements.
Style: Black is nice accent to the counter decor.On-Off button feature above the handle is nice touch.I like the "cordless" when lifting and taking to table.
Looking at this as a long term companion in our household.

The kettle itself is pretty and worked well in the beginning. Unfortunately it started leaking pretty badly after just about five months of use. Couldn't determine what the problem was.
