What Highway to Hell has that Back in Black doesn't is Bon Scott, AC/DC's original lead singer who died just months after this album was released. Scott had a rusty, raspy, scream of a voice, like he might break into a coughing fit at any moment. In other words, on crunchy, hook-heavy metal classics like the title track, and on "Get It Hot" which is more roadhouse rock than metal, he had the perfect instrument for such wild-living anthems. Too perfect, it turned out.--David Cantwell
Album Description:
AC/DC's 1979 album digitally remastered and reissued in a special digipak plus a 16 page full color bookletcontaining all original album art, many unpublished photos, classic memorabilia and new 2003 liner notes. Epic.

- Highway To Hell/Highway To Death
"Highway To Hell" may be AC/DC's most acclaimed record next to "Back In Black." It's definitely the last release featuring B. Scott. And also features the more commercial production of Robert John "Mutt" Lange. For my take, Vanda & Young are definitely missed. But the band comes through & that's the most important thing.
Every track on here is great. It's played perfectly. And is produced flawlessly. It's definitely an album, not a collection of singles. And I love the fact that "Night ... Read More

- Poor production/ waste of money
This one of the first time I heard Bon Scot Sing. I grew up listing to AC/DC with Brian Johnson who is one of my favoirite rock singers.Well the first thing I noticed was Bon Scot's singing. Or what passed for it. On the first song. He sounded so wasted he was slurring some of lyrics. On High way to Hell. The other songs were a little bit better. I saying this because the producer did a poor job the band sounded like a buch of amitures. This CD was such a waste.I recomed any one of their albums with Bon ... Read More

- A perfect representation of that classic rock style
To me, classic rock from around the 1969s and 1970s is the center of music.I think that AC/DC perfectly show that genre, and although people talk about this is where they softened up, I have to argue with that. What I find interesting about this album is it was made by everyone from the Brian Johnson era, but with Bon Scott instead, which is perfect because you get AC/DC's classic vocalist, with the people from their classic era.
I think that the songs are all great songs, and the more ... Read More
