Comfortable cool-grip handles feature an 18/10 stainless steel shaft encased in soft silicone rubber. Some of the cookware also come with break-resistant glass lids: these are dome-shaped lids which shut tightly to secure all the moisture, nutrients and flavor. Handwash with mild dish soap. This item is compatible with Ceramic/glass stovetops.

After much searching and research, I decided to purchase the Kitchenaid Gourmet Essentials Hard Anodized Nonstick 12" round Griddle. Both my husband and I are very pleased with the performance as well as the end result of pancakes/bacon/toasted cheese sandwiches, etc. We have a smooth,glass top stove...so just be careful not to scoot the griddle...but only pick it up to move it around.And, medium heat is all you need to heat up for cooking with this wonderful griddle. I bought this griddle 2 weeks back and I started using it since then. The griddle lived upto, if not more than, my expectations. I used it mainly for making Indian Crepes (dosas). The food doesn't stick to the griddle and also the dosa comes out cripier without using much oil, this is a great advantage for me. Last but not least, cleaning it up is a breeze. My old square griddle warped quickly in cooking pancakes on our smooth-top range at a heat setting of 60%, and the outside cooked slower than the middle.After reeading the reviews of the Kitchen Aid 12" round griddle, I purchased one in the hopes that these problems could be avoided.I tried cooking pancakes at lower settings, but they did not rise properly.When I finally raised the temperature up to 60%, the Kitchen Aid griddle warped also, and cooked slower around the edges.

First time using hard-anodized cookware and I couldn't be more pleased with this product.KitchenAid can be hit or miss in terms of quality but buying this along with their 12 piece set has made cooking and cleaning up an absolute breeze.

I tested this griddle by burning some eggs on it and they came off the bottom of the pan with no effort, just had to swirl around the part that connects the handle to the pan a few times to get the rest.
