- Considering its price, it's not that bad.
We upgraded from a sterno fueled fondue set to this and have been fairly pleased with it so far. There are a number of drawbacks as other reviewers have mentioned, particularly about the VERY short power cord, and that the unit doesn't get as hot as it should.Ideally a fondue pot should be on a dining room table for the communal dining experience, which is why having such a short power cord is so bizarre. If you were leaving it on a buffet I could see the short cord, but when you add a much needed ... - Multi uses for hot dips and fondue
I use this product for many of my hot dips like crab and lobster dips. It keeps the dip at the right temp and does not burn in the pot. To bad it I didn't purchase thi item years ago.
Rating:
- Cooks great, -1 fortoo short electrical cord.
This heats the cheese or chocolate in a smooth, impossible to ruin, masterpeice...but the cord is a hassle, first of all it's super short, obnoxiously short. If you use an extention cord it weighs it down so the magnetic hold on the plug doesn't really hold up and is always falling out.

- Works Great if You Can Get Over the Flawed Design
The good news: This fondue pot heats up very quickly, gets very hot and the non-stick surface is truely non-stick.My issues are with the design: the plug should be called "sure it's plugged in?" instead of "sure release."It wouldn't stay plugged in; the slightest nudge and it'd come unplugged from the pot. There's two prongs but it seems to only stay together via the magnet in the plug. Also, I don't like that the temperature control is blocked by a handle. It seems like an obvious mistake to place ... - Great for the price!
I bought this around 2 years ago after a craving during finals. For being a flippant purchase, it has really served me incredibly well during the time that I've had it. It's super easy to clean, and great for chocolate or cheese, or just keeping soup warm for serving at the table. The only complaint I have about it is that the screws that hold onto the legs have the tendency to come loose, but hey, I just tighten them back with some needle nose pliers and keep on trucking. It makes working with chocolate ...
