Product Description:
INCREDIBLY WACKY COMEDY OF AN UPTIGHT DENTIST AND A MANIACAL RENEGADE C.I.A. MAN THROWN TOGETHER FOR THE MOST OUTRAGEOUS SPY ADVENTURE OF ALL TIME.
Amazon.com:
This 1979 comedy is absolutely indispensable for fans of Peter Falk, Alan Arkin, or Andrew Bergman, who wrote the film's screenplay and went on to direct The Freshman and Honeymoon in Vegas. (Let's forgive him for Striptease.) Arkin is extraordinarily funny as a dentist who quickly grows skeptical about the wild claims of his daughter's future father-in-law (Peter Falk) that he is a CIA agent. When he is drawn into a bizarre adventure in a banana republic, however, he takes a different view. Arthur Hiller (Love Story) provides serviceable direction, but the real draw here is the perfect chemistry between the two leads and Bergman's weirdly comic mind. Watch for the look on Arkin's face when Falk's character tells a story about giant tse-tse flies. --Tom Keogh

- Laugh Out Loud Funny
I can not say enough about this movie.Alan Arkin is the consumate straight man to Peter Falk's dry and serious delivery. They are perfectly matched for this film.It is pure comedic genius. It definitely did not need a remake because this film stands the test of time.I highly recommend it...

- Comedy at its Best
Peter Falk and Alan Arkin are at their comedic best in this film about a CIA operative who involves his son's future father-in-law in a mission to a tropical Latin American Island Country whose dictator makes Idi Amin look like a Rhodes Scholar. This is a movie that I have watched many times over the years and will continue to do so.There are no food fights, sex grundge, profanity or nudity so I don't imagine it will appeal to the brain dead. The story line is ageless as are the actors and the ... - Huh?!?
I recently caught this 1979 "classic" on Public Television, where it was proclaimed that THE IN-LAWS was one of the 50 Best Comedies of the 20th Century.Um. . .okay. . .I thought this film was silly when it first came out, and having just viewed it once more (all these years later) I still do.Look, there's nothing wrong with "silly".Blades of Glory is silly; Caddyshack is even sillier; but where the goofiness and zaniness enhance these two comedies, THE IN-LAWS is so nonsensical it can never ... - A very funny movie
The In-Laws is hilarious. This movie had a great script with a believable plot. The performances by all the actors made the characters real. You'll get a lot of laughs and enjoy this movie again and again. We've had the VHS tape for years.

- Great buddy movie, sort of
Peter Falk and Alan Arkin are awesome together! They play In-Laws to be.Shortly after their first meeting Peter Falk , who plays a mystereous secret agent, visits Alan Arkin, who plays a dentist, and asks for his help.By helping him, Alan Arkin is thrown into a series of dangerous and hilarious situations. The way these two play off of each other is fantastic.I absolutely loved this movie, so much so that I refuse to see the remake.
