Pressure cooking uses pressurized steam to cook healthy meals with beans, grains, meat, poultry, and seafood in much less time than many other cooking methods require. Made in Spain, this Splendid pressure cooker holds a maximum capacity of 10 quarts of Italian chicken soup or beans with sausage and works on all heat sources. The cooker is constructed of high-quality 18/10 stainless steel with an encapsulated aluminum base for even and efficient heat distribution. For safety, the pressure cooker has dual pressure settings on its handle--one in a dial control and another on a valve. Other safety measures include two pressure release valves and a locking handle to prevent the unit from opening while under pressure. A visual indicator lets you know when all the pressure has been released and the cooker is ready to open. The Fagor Ten-Quart pressure cooker information should include the fact that the cooker does not contain a canning rack and does not have a complete range of pressures available to can with.I could not use it for my canning.Fagor Splendid 10-Quart Pressure Cooker/Canner
Rating: - FAGOR IS NOT MADE IN SPAIN, BUT CHINA
My new 10 qt Fagor was advertised to be a canner, but had no rack or frame for canning jars and Fagoramerica doesn't sell the rack separately at their site.I have all the other tools for canning. It was advertized at Amazon as being made in Spain but it came in a box that said it was made in China. Had I known it wasn't made in Spain I would not have purchased it.It looks stable enough and I need a stainless one to cook in so I guess it's either keep it or spring for a KUHN RIKON. I have had this product for about a month now and am very pleased with it.Cooking times tend to take longer than mentioned in the accompanying books, but still are considerably faster than conventional stove top cooking.I can also cook things that I used to have to do a lot more advanced planning for.I like that I can take meat out of the freezer, partially thaw it enough to brown the outside in the oven, then throw it in the pressure cooker to finish it...and with the same result I get from hours ... It's big enough for any meal especially when you have guests, cooks quickly and cleans easily. I've been cooking with it for some months now and I've had no problems with it. Overall a perfect pressure cooker.

Since they live in Denver at altitude, I thought this would be a great addition to their newly renovated kitchen--with an induction cooktop.Daughter reported in January that it had been used every single day since unwrapping at Christmas. They are both involved in the high end restaurant business and intense foodies/cooks/gardeners. With work schedules, it isn't always possible to have long cooking times for food.
