The mitt in this two-piece set looks different, and it should: it uses a puppet-style thumb-over-finger grip for enhanced safety when dealing with extra-hot ovens. But there's more to Kitchen Grips mitts and hot pads than just how they look. Made from exceptionally durable, heat- and liquid-resistant silicone, they can withstand temperatures up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit without scorching or transferring heat. Plus, since there's no need for padding, they're extremely thin and flexible--improving dexterity (and safety) while handling hot pans, bowls, or casseroles. Unlike standard potholders or mitts, these are also stain-resistant; simply wipe clean after using, or toss in the dishwasher. - Can't feel the heat
I was a bit skeptical of this product, but once I tried it and realized that you really can't feel any heat with them - I love them!It gives you grip as well as insulates from the heat. Highly recommend.

- Be careful if your hands are damp
The mitt is nice and long so your arm is protected, however, if your hands are a little damp, the water will conduct the heat and the mitt does not work very well.Otherwise, I liked it for the length and the ease of clean-up.
