Actress-writer-director Ida Lupino got one of her unfortunately rare opportunities behind a camera making this 1966 family comedy about two mischievous students (Hayley Mills, June Harding) making life difficult for the nuns at a girls' convent school. Rosalind Russell has a fine part as a mother superior vexed by their pranks and outwardly chilly until the girls catch her in a more private moment of emotional release. The script has an anecdotal structure--it's sort of one thing after another with Mills's and Harding's troublemakers--but there is a rising sense that these two kids gradually develop some awareness of the pain and sacrifices of others. A fun and touching movie all around, with a nice twist at the end. --Tom Keogh

- A great surprise from TCM
I saw this movie last year con TCM And I was greatly surprised! It is one of the funniest movies Ive ever seen. The acting was so natural, a movie very well done, and still with the innocence of the 60's... I loved it!

- Good Family Entertainment
The Trouble With Angels, was ordered to show ouryoung granddaughters. We feel we need to see more movies equal to this one.All the adults in the family enjoyed the movie, brought back memories when we first saw the movie.
Rating:
- Scathingly brilliant and a blast
The DVD is in good quality, and the film may be one of the most underrated ever. Everything ist great, everythin is symbolic, logical, brilliantly photographed, the colours are vivid and certainly not composed and chosen by pure coincidence, the men are almost absent and reputed worse than the alleedly severe nuns, it's funny, wise, witty, and it tells much of female adolescence, mental development and initiation, by minimalistic means and a brilliantly acting Hayley Mills who's face watching the ... - A Delightful Family Comedy!
The Trouble With Angels is a film about two girlfriends who plays a series of pranks at a convent school, much to the displeasure of the mother superior(Rosalind Russell). In the end, the girls made peace with the nuns and their schoolmates at the end of their semester. Hayley Mills and June Harding also stars in this classic family film.
