Very good product. I use this only for chicken, which is one of the more stubborn meats to flatten. I fold plastic wrap around the chicken when flattening to help avoid mess.
The metal doesn't stick to the plastic, and it cleans VERY easily. The handle is comfortable, and the weight is heavy enough to do the job, yet light enough so that you don't fatigue as quickly.
Very good price on a very good product.

This is the best designed meat pounder/flatner on the market. (Alton Brown Recommends it) It gives more control, and takes less effort. It is also very difficult to find-- so I was Very Happy to find it at Amazon for a Christmas Gift! Thanks!!!

I love this item.It has a great weight, not too heavy but not too light either.The size of the pounding end is really nice.It flattens out your chicken breasts nice and evenly with only a few whacks.
You use a very smooth motion with it and it doesn't take a lot of wrist and hand strength to use it.
I even tackled half frozen chicken with it one day and it handled it with only a bit more effort.

Yoy need something like a chain saw to get into this absurd packaging!!! I thought I heard amazon was cutting down on wasteful clam shell packaging!!!
