This filter is needed in order to operate your Hoover FloorMate.It is fairly cheap to but and can be washed many times before having to be replaced.

Taking the hint from an earlier reviewer, I replace my original (two-year old) filter, and wow, what a difference in suction.It returned the suction to the original level, leaving the floor almost completely dry after one pass.I'll replace the filter regularly from now on!
