I can image it would be wonderful if anything you put one this machine has perfectly round shape. Most apples are OK, but it fails pretty miserably when I tried to peel potato with it.....

Once you figured out how to do your first apple, it is the best thing ever. I got it, because it was so highly rated.It runs smoothly and is fast.This will come in handy for the holidays when I make applesauce.

- If you complain it leaves a lot of skin on your apples.. adjust it.
Its the typical ol' apple peeler.Uses a slightly different peeler than they did 150 years ago.But it works just as well.
I thought too that it must be crappy (i got mine at the goodwill) but I adjusted the set screw to allow greater arm movement and it works like a charm.Peels most potatoes (of course leaves the ends, as its not designed for potatoes.
Its a bit wasteful compared to some, but not asbad as me when I peel apples or potatoes.

I had the same experience as those who posted the other bad reviews.I thought the adjustability would make this the perfect apple peeler, but even fine-tuning did not stop this thing from leaving the peel on half the apple and taking half the flesh off the other half -- it also mangled the cores, breaking them in half -- as one other reviewer noted, the spring seems very tight and does not follow the curve of the apples.I had another brand that wasn't expensive at all that worked beautifully until ... I gave this as a gift. I have a similar item and it not only works well peeling apples, it also works for potatoes. Best of all it will slice at the same time. Easy to clean up.
