Monster Cable PowerCenter HTS 2000 MKII

Product Description:
Harmful power surges and voltage spikes can travel up the AC power line and damage connected equipment. Lightning, automatic garage doors, power tools, refrigerators and fluorescent lights all cause power surges and voltage spikes that affect phone lines and coax cables. Monster's Multirole SurgeGuard detects harmful power surges and voltage spikes before they reach components. This PowerCenter HITS 2000 features special surge protection for phone lines and coax cables used for DSS, DIVX /DVD and cable TV connections. Other surge protectors can result in as much as 20 to 30 dB of signal loss, which ultimately affects the output performance of coax connections. Monster's ultra-low loss RF circuitry provides virtually no signal loss to maintain peak performance. Best of all, an audible surge alarm and visual surge indicator warn you of harmful surges and let you know you're getting the most advanced protection available.

Features:
  • 12 AC outlets for AC surge protection.
  • 3 pair ultra-low loss, protected coaxial connections for cable TV/HDTV.
  • 1 pair of protected phone/network connections for satellite/TiVo/phone/network protection.
  • Monster Clean PowerTM Stage 2 v.2.0 circuitry filter dramatically reduces electronic noise.
  • Tri-Mode power protection circuitry with audible alarm and auto disconnect.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Discontinued
Unit failed to provided power at any of outlets after 1yr of usage and still under warranty. No reported anomalies in electrical power or storms had taken place (Tucson AZ). Monster replaced with similar unit model (downgraded) which offered less power ports, no current LED display, and price considerably less than desired model. Monster reported original model discontinued. Good business practice would have provided customer with price difference since customer spent the additional cost to get extra ... Read More

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Power center failed
It looks like the power on button disconnected or separated from it's socket and it will no longer turn on. I thought at first it needed a reset but that wasn't the case.I don't think there was a major power surge because my other surge protector on my computer wasn't affected.

Admittedly I used the power on button daily to reduce power vampirism from the equipment when off but still, for this much money you'd think it wouldn't fail like this.

2 stars for working well for over ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Love it but...
I love Monster products but after 1 week of having this power strip the switched outlets (labeled DVD and Television) don't let enough power through to power my tv anymore. It worked fine then one day I came home from work and my tv had no power.I switched to one of the nonswitched outlets and I have power all day long with no issues.I have contacted Monster with no response yet.Other than that it is a Great product. If they warranty the item I will love Monster more.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Serioulsy reconsider buying Monster products
I truly wish I could provide a decent review as I had done a bunch of research before buying and was looking forward to using it, but I never really had a chance to use it.Straight out of the packaging several of the outlets simply didn't work.I had to return it (at my expense). While I noticed several other reviewers had commented on intial purchases not working, I thought it was a fluke. Now I realize Monster must have a massive quality control problem. My neighbor returned a similar Monster product ...
