Amazon.com:
The pinnacle of blaxploitation movies, the 1972 Superfly stars Ron O'Neal as a drug dealer who wants out of the business but decides to take out some enemies in the process. With its criminal hero, one might almost think this could be an existential crime movie, but no...it's really just an effective piece of pulp with a strong performance by O'Neal, grim settings, cool direction by Gordon Parks Jr., and a famous soundtrack by Curtis Mayfield. --Tom Keogh

- Superfly
I enjoyed the movie when it first came out in the early 70's and had been looking for it & was told by a firend where I could find it...was glad I did but the quality of the movie isn't what it should be & to me it seemed like there were a few scenes missing from it......all in all I am glad I found it but I thought it would be better quality

- Ron Oneal
Mr Ron O'neal ,in my opinion was underated and some tried to make him feel bad for doing this movie ,I thought this was the best black movie made in the 70s,even though i was a child when it was released. I own this movie and i cant get enough of it. Great movie!

- powerful, beautiful film; does NOT glamourize pimping or drug dealing
Though Priest youngblood may try to justify his pimping and dealing saying "this is what the white man left us" and "I only deal to white MFers"; that is not the message of the film. The scenes show us differently-such as when they accidentally break into a poor, honest sista's decrepit place with her children around a stove trying to stay warm; how eventually this is a strange form of suicide. But what it does do is point out the failures of the mainstream civil rights movement and the man to get ... Read More

- The Costume Designer Was On Point
Instead of giving props to the movie, which was marginal at best.I'll speak on the costume designer.Bravo for the clothes...they were "Out Of Sight!"Also, Priest's car was the sickest car I've ever seen in my life...I want one.
