Shun makes the best kitchen knives I have ever owned, bar none. They all come with a razor sharp edge right out of the box and are easy to re-hone with just a few strokes on a steel (well worth purchasing to accompany this knife). The damascus pattern is gorgeous and the perfectly crafted profile slices through darn near anything (food-like anyway) with ease. We took it out for the first time yesterday to carve the roast beef.It cut perfectly as one would have expected on a 5 star product.The set comes in a wooden box, great storage since we don't use it very often.
