Linksys is a respected company and I have used their products before but I dont know why and how they managed to come up with such a aweful product.
I purchased one 4 months back. It kept on going dead and I had to restart it almost every 30 min. I called amazon and got it replaced.
The new one also didn't work that good. And finally one day it went dead and I pressed the reset button located at the back.
After that it has never worked. I am going to call Amazon to see if they ... Read More

This maybe an Issue that Costumers might have! THIS WAS MY EXPERIENCE!!I bought this model at my local Walmart for $40. Install, easy enough. Two months after purchase, The ROUTER just suddenly had no connection to the internet on my computer! I did the cd install, to no avail. I then called Tech Support. They were nice, had great communication and were knowledgeable. Except after 3hrs, 4 different Tech Support Levels, no luck with any connection/ configuration, settings, you name it!! Then, they ... The WRT54GS is a nice router and I've installed three of them for different people, as well as myself.I have not done anything with custom firmware updates; however, I can only give the router four stars for the following reasons: (1) No out-of-the-box syslog capabilities.(2) The antennas are hardwired, so I cannot reuse the high-gain antennas I originally purchased for my WRT54G v3.(3) I had problems with my wireless connection dropping if I used a long (>30 characters) encryption phrase.The ...
