I'm an absolute beginner and bought this strictly off reviews online and the general Takamine reputation. I've been playing it for a few weeks now and am totally happy with it. The price was right since I didn't want to spend a lot of money not knowing whether I'd "take" to this new hobby or not. The quality of the guitar is excellent especially for the price -- it looks great, all the parts are well put together and well finished. I have been playing guitar for 13 years and own 8 guitars.
I have put in countless hours of play on my Takamine Jasmine S35 and I still love it just as much as ever.
This is a wonderful guitar for the money.
Sounds great, feels good in your hand and is well made.
There are few things I have owned that I stand by as much as this guitar.

- Great for the Price, But only for the price.
This guitar is a great guitar for a beginner, it will quickly throw them into a habit of tuning the guitar before every session(And even periodicly in LONG sessions) as it doesnt hold tune well. The guitar also, and this just may be a problem with the preticular one I recieved, has a nasty bit of Fret Buzz somewhere along one of the frets and the 6E string. It did also have a spot that bugged me for a long time. A spot of missing varnish. It isnt damaged, it appears as if they just somehow magically ... Read More

I got this guitar as a gift for a friend who wanted to learn how to play.I looked at a lot of guitars before purchasing and found this to be the best value of any of them.Am amazed it was so cheap.It has quality construction and it sounds great.Probably not the best guitar for somebody who has been playing for years, but it's certainly good enough as a first guitar or for somebody who is a casual player.
