I purchased this item for a friend because I borrowed hers in which she had for over 8 years and sure enough it stopped working while I was using it. Would I buy this? NO! but I had to replace it for her because she preferred the same one.But I must say that while it was working for me the first two fries it cooked evenly.

This piece of junk worked fine 3 times. Since I don't deep-fry that often, I used it over a 2 month period. The 4th try, it was inoperative. The best part is Amazon, the dealer, Target, and the maker, Aroma, would not honor a guarantee after 30 days. I suggest you save your cash and do not buy any product from thiscompany
