Like the gun toted by the cowboy hero with whom it shares its name, the Maverick is a six shooter. Unlike the gun that other Maverick had, however, this weapon shoots only soft suction darts that can fly across a room and adhere to a window or other glass surface. The Maverick features a rotating barrel, which makes it easier to keep the firepower flying in the midst of heated battle and a futuristic look to better engender sci-fi fantasy play if you so choose. For a little extra power boost, the gun also has a pump mechanism. In our informal test, the darts flew surprisingly far and impressively straight. --Charlie Williams

- Fun for kids and adult
I bought 3 of these for my nephew for his birthday. They were a hit and we used them on our next camping trip. I only have two issues with them. These are definitely not for close use. They do pack a bit of a punch and can sting if hit in the right place. The cylinder for the bullets likes to stick often so you have to work it sometimes. Over all it provide all of us great fun.

you can fire it quickly and it's pretty accurate. the "bullets" have to go in all the way or it gets stuck, but you just push in the "bullet" and its okay again. I have a number of Nerf guns and this is usually the one I chose when we have Nerf wars.

This was my first Nerf gun, and I've had it little under a year, but it is definetely first in line for my arsenal. Even though reloading's a bit tricky and tedious at first, it is extremely exciting in a fire fight. And you don't even have to flip out the chamber. The conveniently placed gaps on the sides make it easy to just slip one in, change the chamber, and repeat. It even has the handy ability to un-cock the firing slide when you want to fake fire it.

At first I might have rated this 2 stars overall because the darts don't stick to all surfaces but me and my brother decided the darts should be stun darts. If they hit you, you get a free shot. As I said on my other review, you need to get extra ammunition. You can't put other types of darts in the gun because it gets jammed. Pros...great gun, tons of fun. Cons...sometimes the barrel gets jammed, not a good starter gun. Overall, a great gun.

this toy is awsome for the price get it Im a a big nerf fan. Im a kid who really tests its abiity and strength it always is like I just took it out of the box its much bigger the it apears on the picture it is much larger then the night finder. over all this is the perfect hand gun to have in the rage of war. the onlything I do not like is that u have to re-load after 6 shots. no gun is perfect)I also like the recon-CS36 get this product you wont regret!!!!!!!!!!
