Hooked up my old video camera to it and plugged the firewire into my vista computer.Reconized it right away and begin capturing immediately.Picture quality and sound very good.Also very rugged -- I dropped my video camera on the unit by accident and although it marked the case it continues to work.One small issue is that my camera puts out mono audio and the Canopus has L and R sterio inputs so I had to purchase a splitter in order to get sound on both cannnels.This is a great little machine ... The ADVC110 works as advertised. No problem feeding old analog garbage in and getting shiny new digital garbage out. But I must take off one star for Canopus' profiteering on the AC adapter. The MSRP is $75 and you can find discount "bargains" for $40, but that's still an outrageous price to pay for a regulated adapter. On top of it they used an unusually small power jack so you're unlikely to find an adaptor with the right plug.

Good so far. Just purch this mo. Captures fine and integrates with Premiere Pro perfectly. One (cheap RShack) 15ft long 6pin cable did not work for power. Small one included with unit does work but I need a longer run. Will keep hunting for longer one. Don't want to spend for the power supply unless have to. Other than that product is 10 out of 10 at this point for me. Happy with results.

I had been researching for a year to find the right tool to transfer family vhs gems into divine dvd's.I learned enough to stay away from the software type programs but still almost took the bait at the apple store for the 99 dolla capture card for mac.Upona little more googling I realized it was only really suited for ipod play back and to go ahead and spend 200 dolla on this.I'm glad I did, maybe I should have even spent the 300 dolla on the one that improves video quality, because that is my only ...
