This oil works great and is safe.I used this for several years in another home we owned, on a large butcher block island.It has always kept wood butcher blocks I've owned, looking brand new.

I bought this oil to use on a new butcher block kitchen cart.I have coated it twice, so far.It had nothing on it when I bought it, so it is absorbing the oil pretty quickly.I also used it on an old wooden bowl and some salad utensils that I have had for years, and they look great. (I oiled them a month or so ago).
I am not really fond of the smell of the oil, but that dissipates very quickly.No lingering odor.

After refinishing my 15-year old John Boos butcher block and using food-grade mineral oil on its firt "oiling", I ordered this oil based on the other reviews.It arrived in record time and was much cheaper than buying it "over the counter"; however, I'm wondering whether this oil mixture works any better than food-grade mineral oil.It does have a nice orange smell, but I don't think it made any difference in the appearance of my block.Using the mineral oil on the freshly sanded butcher block had already ...
