- Impractical design
We returned this fryer for several reasons. The magnet that is supposed to hold the power cord is so poorly attached that it falls for any motion or shock to the unit. Simply shaking fries in the basket is sufficient to dislodge the power cord. That implies restarting not only the temperature setup but also the timer (who needs a timer instead of a visual inspection !).

Initially, I really liked this fryer.It was my second deep fryer, and my first deep fryer with an immersion heating element.It worked great at first, but it did take a long time for the oil to heat up.Given the quantity of oil, I figured that was acceptable.The advantage was the oil would maintain temperature during cooking.

We purchased this item from Amazon with the sole purpose of using it to make some traditional family foods on Christmas Eve.
The first time it worked wonderfully and was a great alternative to what we used to do which was fry outdoors using a big pot and a freestanding burner thing (such as they use to fry turkeys on). That one time that we used it the product was fantastic!
And this year to prepare two of our family's traditional foods for Christmas Eve we set the unit up ... Read More

I've bought 2 of this model of deep fryer and both had the same problem.Error at a certain temperature.The error clears after about 5 restarts, but eventually the thing just stops working.I would NEVER buy another model of Delonghi deep fryer.However Delonghi is not all bad.I do have a Delonghi coffee maker..It works well.

This is my third fryer and I absolutely love it.Heats fast and easy to clean.Like another reviewer, I was worried about the handle on the fry basket at first, but then discovered I didn't click it into place as is clearly stated in the instructions.
Well worth the price.
