Rating: - Lousy lifespan makes for an unhappy customer
This product started to malfunction a little more than a year into its life.

At first, it made great ice cream.Now, the unit generates so much heat while it is turning that the bowl unfreezes and I end up with a pultaceous mess that isn't remotely close to ice cream.

This product has been on my counter for less than 48 hours and I've already made 2 fabulous batches of ice cream.It was excruciating to wait 24 hours for the bowl to freeze so that I could FINALLY use it *grin*.But the resulting ice cream was worth the agonizing wait.I could not be happier with my purchase.My old ice cream machine was such a pain to use that I rarely bothered to dusted it off and put it into action even though I absolutely adore homemade ice cream.My first batch was an ... When I first bought this machine, it made a few nice batches of ice cream.After that, forget it.Despite freezing the bowl, wrapped in plastic, for c. 48 hours and having all ingredients fully chilled, I'm lucky to get a slushy mess.Don't waste your money.
Rating: - Great little machine
This machine does exactly what it's supposed to do. I read the instructions thoroughly (as anyone should before first use!), froze the bowl overnight and then prepared the simple vanilla ice cream recipe from the book. It came out soft-serve like Dairy Queen, and so I put in freezer as suggested for firmer texture. Too easy. I will try the custard base next. I'm thrilled with it.
