The Grandrich ES-101N EZ Reader floor lamp simulates outdoor sunlight, which is balanced across the entire spectrum of color visible to the human eye. - Highy dissatisfied
I ordered this lamp and promptly set it up.It turned on and the light lasted 3 minutes.I called the company which told me it was the ballast.They sent me a new ballast (free) and I installed it - with difficulty.The light came on again for 2 minutes & died again.I sent the lamp back to Amazon and bought a teriffic lamp from Wal-mart!I'm not saying the company is bad - they were helpful in sending the new ballast, but the lamp must have inherent problems with its design.

I needed a lamp for my bedside table for reading at night.This lamp is nothing special but does the trick.Setup was easy right out of the box.

Light has an awfully large footprint.The light color (rather harsh blue-white) may be good for some things but not for my eyes when I want to do some reading - I still prefer an incandescent for that.Also, the 4 prong plugin bulb may be hard to find replacements for - haven't seen anything like it except for growlight bulbs for a friend's Aerogarden.

Although I did not purchase this particular lamp (I purchased the floor model), I would warn potential customers to be sure to save their receipt for any purchase from this company.If you are buying the lamp used, it might be a problem.The lamp I purchased was a $50 lamp made by the same company and it didn't last one month before blowing the circuit panel, which had to be replaced at our expense.I had misplaced the receipt and the company would not honor my word, so we had to pay for the part ... I've had several Ott Lites and have found them great in design but inadequate in bulb replacements (which are expensive and hard to find).This lamp replacement serves its purpose and seems to have several outlets for bulb replacement.
