Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Leaky spout
Spout leaks when pouring water from teapot leaving a rather large mess to clean up. Kettle does not always whistle when water has boiled.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Good Teakettle, Bad Amazon Service
The whistling sound is a little odd; not what I expected. It sounded like moaning pipes; had to get used to it. As one reviewer pointed out, that could be a good thing, though; not shrill.I have not had any problems with the melting cap as the one reviewer said, but it is plastic and now that I know I will take extra precautions. Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Pretty and pleasant sounding
I got this kettle because I have some of the dishes in this pattern, I did end up returning the first one (due to defects) but amazon quickly shipped me a replacement, and that one has been wonderful to use. I have used other kettles and most the whistles are shrill and harsh sounding, this one is neither! The sound is reminiscent of a steam train, but not so loud, a pleasant sound in my opinion. My only complaint is it could be a bit bigger.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Beautiful and practical
This kettle is really beautiful, the whistle is a lot of fun too. Exactly what I wanted!

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - A sad day for Corningware and Chinese artisans
I'm sorry I bought it, It is hard to believe that, in a country that has made teapots for millenia, coupled with first-rate Corelle, they come up with a nice-looking, but non-functional teapot. It drips. The whistler is a low grade plastic that melts with the steam heat.If you're looking for something pretty and don't mind the lack of functionality, but it.If you're a tea drinker, look elsewhere!
