This filter is designed to fit Kenmore uprights using a HEPA filter (86889). Kenmore uprights are actually manufactured by Panasonic for Sears, so this filter will fit all Panasonic uprights using a HEPA filter also. This HEPA filter is imperative for homes with allergies are breathing issues. The acronym HEPA stands for "High Efficiency Particulate Air". These advanced filters are a very important upgrade on today's vacuum cleaners, as they force air through microscopic screens, capturing even the smallest of particles such as dust mites, pollen, animal dander, and even most bacteria.
