Uniden's DCT 648-3 comes with a number of useful features, including two extra handsets with their own charging cradles, expandability (one additional DCX640, sold separately), and an all-digital answering machine. Ideal for any large home, this stylish phone set allows you to place handsets in multiple locations so you never miss a call.
Caller ID/call waiting compatible, the DCT 648-3 can store up to 100 incoming numbers, while the display-and-dial feature lets you easily scroll through the list of calls and dial with the touch of a button. An autoscan feature automatically detects the best channel available, and handset and ringer volume controls allow you to easily adjust the phone's settings to your liking.
The DCT 648-3 is headset compatible (a belt clip is provided for hands-free operation), while a room/baby monitoring setting lets you hear audio from another handset location. - Awful customer service when a repair was requested
I have had my phone for almost 3 years with no problems.When we moved, I plugged it in and noticed the phone did not ring and the answering machine wouldn't pick up.I called Uniden (after going through ALL the troubleshooting steps) and they apparently did away with their service department.When I told the representative that I simply wanted a repair, she said that these phones were not built to be repaired and I would have to buy a new one since "they were so cheap".Nice!I will never buy ... I've owned this phone for a few years now, since it was new on the shelves.I bought the 2 handset set from Home Depot for about $70, which was a stellar price, considering all the options it has. I like the fact that the keypad lights up, so dialing after dark is as easy in daytime.I LOVE the fact that each handset has its own speakerphone, with VERY lould volume if you need it.The people on the other end have never complained about hearing me when in speakerphone mode, in fact when I told them ... - Don't waste your time or money with Uniden
Just move on to Panasonic. Uniden products are little more than near-future land fill, shrink-wrapped, packages of crap. And one more thing, they can't be returned. So you are really stuck with it. The warehouse that mails these out has a poor return/refund policy. You have been warned. Now it's up to you.

No problems at all with this unit, very durable, easy to use, I can even call in and check my messages away from home. This was the most affordable option I was interested in and it is a very good product. I highly recommend this phone system.

We have owned this phone set for 6 months now and love it.You can program each handset with different ringers, so you can tell them apart.At first I wasn't overwhelmed with the small size of the handset, since we've become accustomed to larger ones over the years, but now I love it. They're small enough to put into a pocket to carry out into the yard. We've had no issues with frequencies and the sound is perfect.
