I have been searching to purchase the Back to Basics as I wore out my previous 2.I believe this is one of the easiest smoothie makers to clean which is important when making smoothies several times daily! The blades could be a little sharper but isn't a huge deal since you have the stir stick.

I bought this product around a month ago, and we've made smoothies nearly every morning since!It is excellent.It is a heavy, sturdy product and is MUCH larger than it appears in the photo.I was very surprised when I removed it from the package. At capacity, there is more than enough smoothie for four people!
It easily handles fresh fruit and ice, and creates a nice consistency provided you have the right amount of ice.The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because ... Read More

- Good news, bad news.
I really liked the way the smoothie maker performed, it was awesome at crushing ice! However, like several other people, the spout cracked after 3 months. I ordered a new part, but the new spout broke during the first use. I am now looking for a new brand.

I too own this blender, & instantly fell in love with the power & ability to grind large quantities of ice. I new it was too good to be true though. After about a year & a half of ownership, one day my wife & I were making some smoothies when we noticed liquid running all over the counter. First thought was we assembled the gasket wrong after its last cleaning. So after cleaning up the mess, we took it apart, and discovered a very long hairline crack within the base. Only used about six times so far for Frozen drinks, seems to have plenty of power, well built. My only minor concern is that the spout seems to 'drip' a lot more than my old model. Would highly recommend.
