The tape counter seems to count in seconds and this is not very standard for these systems. The unit is nice for the price but I would have liked to see an ONKYO " INTEGRA" line quality.

- Onkyo deck purchased for school music room
This deck was purchased for a general music classroom. It did not work out of the box but unfortunately was past the 30 day period when it was tested out. One would not expect a basic tape deck to not be able to play or record cassettes, but it appears to be a fairly common problem with a sensor in the unit. We are now trying to deal with a service center in another state and are out money for shipping on a brand new unit. Poor experience with Onkyo.

- Deck player Onkyo TARW255
I love that thing. A bit noisy when the tape stops or gets to the end and going backwards but that sound! Combined with Onkyo TX-SR606... I love tapes!
Would recommend? O YES !!

- TA-RW255
I bought this deck to replace my old Sony deck that died after 17 years. The Onkyo TA-RW255 I have is barely beyond the warranty period of 1 year and it is already showing problems. Tape Deck A does not work any more. I can still use Deck B to play. With this kind of quality I am not buying another Onkyo product any time soon.

- Tried two units and got same problem
