When steak is on the menu, pull out this set of six steak knives from Victorinox (model 88792), each of which features a pointed tip and serrated edge. Because the blades are stamped rather than forged the price is kept reasonable, yet the high-carbon, stainless steel is extremely durable and the ground, tempered edges maintain their razor-sharpness for a considerable length of time. Rating: - Great knives!
These are wonderful, but be warned - they are very sharp! They wash well in the dishwasher and we have had no problems whatsoever (except that I cut myself, but that was a user error). I highly recommend these knives if you don't want to bother buying replacements anytime soon.

I'm the only one in my house who hasn't been cut by these knives (of course I'm the only one who doesn't cook either - lol).These knives are much sharper than a standard Steak Knife so treat them with respect, or suffer some blood loss ;-)
Bottom line, excellent knives...Sharp, diswasher safe, cheap.

THESE KNIVES WILL SURPRIZE YOU, THEIR SHARPNESS AND ACCURACY ARE TERRIFIC. I HAD TWO OLDER ONES LIKE THIS AND SEARCHED TO FIND NEW ONES. THEY ARE GREAT, WATCH OUT WHEN WASHING THEM...THEY ARE VERLY SHARP. DON

These were given to me as a gift for Christmas 2007. Since then, we have used them for everything but steak. We cut up kid foods mostly. We also use them for peeling apples (not what they were intended for, but sometimes the right knife is dirty), opening packages, cutting fruit, lunch meat, pizza, chicken, salads, grapes, etc.
These knives have stayed sharp even in the face of dishwasher use. They are flexible and durable.
