This vacuum has great suction and almost glides itself across the floor.I feel my carpets are cleaner than they have been in a long time.Easy assembly also.A few reviewers have said it wasn't so wonderful but you'll never find complete satisfaction, even with the most expensive vacuum.Buy this one instead~

the vacuum part works well but the hose is useless. the suction is not strong enough to pick anything up.

I wanted a vacuum that had good suction and I definitely got it with this Hoover. It looks a little chintzy, but it is powerful. In fact, it is almost too powerful. My longer rugs take a bit of a beating from it, pulling out loose threads. This also makes it difficult to push over the longer rugs. When you first start the machine, it sucks so quickly and powerfully that you can't move it forward without significant effort. But once you get past the initial strain, it works great. This vacuum is such a value. I had researched vacuums before I bought a new one. I didn't want to spend a whole lot so I read consumer reports.
