- The First World War; The Complete Series
Excellent overview of WW1 That traces the causes of the war and the varies alliances. Touches on major battle front throughout Europe, Asia and Africa. Produced by Channel 4 in England you get a better feeling for the European/ Allied view of the whys and horrors of the entire war, including recently found material from the Balkan countries.

Rating:
- An excellent overview
This series takes an overall fantastic look at the causes, action, and consequences of "The Great War". I've watched it twice now and am most throughly impressed with it's quality. A highly recommended series thats a great buy at under $20.

- The First World War - The Complete Series
This was the best of several WWI DVDs I recently ordered. In addition to The First World War, I ordered The Complete Story: World War I ('the CBS series') and World War 1 in Color. This set gave an interesting and thorough history of the military and political significance of the war. Its also the only series I've seen where the makers took the time to show period film clips at the correct speed instead of running the old film at modern film speeds. It makes them much more impactful and relatable ... Read More

- Good..But not the definative series
Although I realize the U.S. didn't enter the war till late..The series really marginalized the U.S. involvement. Only in the last two episodes out of ten. But like the excellent "World at War" series, It is British made. So I expected as much. Although I believe the definative series on the first world war has yet to be made. This is a very good watch. Great for the uninformed on the subject. And well put together. 3 1/2 stars .
