- Not the quality I'd expect from Cuisinart
This blender works fine for making smoothies, if you run it long enough.However the bowl is very difficult to take apart - there's no place to get a good grip to unscrew it.The labels on the buttons ("on" "off") have worn off after a year.And sometimes onthe "ice crush" mode,it simply unscrews the bowl instead of sucking down the ice!Also, the cover has all these little places where food can get stuck and it's very hard to clean.You'd think after making blenders for decades, they'd ... This blender has worked well for our family for at least three years now. Blends everything we throw in it.Doesn't "smell bad".My girls make smoothies nearly every morning.Blends the ice, strawberries, and yogurt just fine. My sixth grader has no problem cleaning it after her smoothie.

I purchased this blender on sale for $39.99 from Kohls on sale. Not bad.
When I first opened this blender, I thought it seemed more durable than my old Oster, whose motor burned out. The lid isn't all flimsy and made with floppy rubber - it's hard plastic. The jar is a bit on the heavy side, but I like how it's very wide both in the jar and the base so it stays very sturdy. The spout hole turns and locks perfectly into the plastic lid, preventing spillage.

I bought this for my sister as a Christmas gift. She unpacked it and had it on her counter for two months before she tried to use it. A couple of weeks ago, she told me the blender does not work. There is no returning it because 90 days have passed. What a Waste of Money...
