*Does it really work that much better than human clippers? YES
*Is it quiet enough that it won't freak out my dogs? YES
*Will I be able to handle it well even though I have no professional grooming experience? YES

Animals vary greatly in temperment so if you can borrow a friends clipper to try on your animal first I recommend it before making the investment. We have two cats so this clipper more or less paid for itself the first year in use.
We tried my sister's animal clipper the first year. The second year we tried two from Target and one from Petsmart. Finally bit the bullet and got this one from Petsmart. Pricier than the first we bought from them but worth it. (They were kind enough to let us ... Read More

- 7month old Poodle
Our 7 month old poodle was pretty tangled and this clipper set worked real well on shaving him down.
I did not have much success with the attachmentsfor different lengths because they kept getting caught in his hair but with just the clipper we were able to get below the matting. He looks great now, so I am really happy with this product specially since it would of cost just as much if not more to get his haircut by someone else and now I can do it whenever.

After making the big decision to groom our standard poodle, the next decision was selecting the clippers.I had been told told "get a better clipper" but not really sure what that meant.I didn't want to spend a couple hundred and wasn't that psyched about spending $150 either - after all, what if I couldn't do the grooming task and then I really wasted a lot of money!

This ad is very misleading.I ordered the Andis Pro Pet and I got a completely different product than what was advertised.When I called to complain they said they had corrected the problem but as I looked back at previous reviews I was not the first customer this switch had been pulled on.I am in the process of ordering the real Andis Pro Pet and hopefully it will live up to its reviews.
