Amazon.com Review:
In today's rapidly changing world, using renewable resources makes sense, even in the kitchen. Joyce Chen's burnished bamboo utensils are not only earth-friendly, but beautiful and practical. Bamboo, a grass, grows quickly to harvestable size and is considered an environmentally-sound replacement for slow-growing trees. Stronger than wood, the tools in this set won't scratch nonstick surfaces and are so tough they won't swell, split, or absorb moisture like wood can. Moreover, these are dishwasher-safe. The burnished honey color comes not from a stain but from oven-roasting, which caramelizes the bamboo's naturally occurring sugars.
Designed with Asian cooking in mind, but appropriate for other types of cuisine as well, this five-piece bamboo tool set includes a 12-inch mixing spoon, 12-inch slotted spatula, 11-inch tongs, and 13-inch stir-fry spatula, complete with a bamboo canister. All the tools are safe to use on any nonstick surface. Joyce Chen produces an impressive range of burnished bamboo kitchen tools and cutting boards, along with traditional woks and Asian-style cutlery for the dedicated home chef. --Ann Bieri

- Just ok
When I received my order the Utensil Holder was split from bottom to top. I was also not extremely happy with the bamboo utensils. I have other bamboo spoons and find the quality of these not very good.

- Nice set at a good price.
I like these bamboo utensils a lot.The only drawback for me is that the tongs are a little flimsy. The other pieces work really well, though, especially with stir fries.
Rating:
- sturdy and good looking
I bought this bamboo set after considering various silicone alternatives, which are A) a lot more expensive, and B) pretty unattractive. I think when beauty marries function, that's the ideal combo. Super practical, easy on the eyes. Joyce Chen offers a good variety of utensils -- two spatulas, a spoon, tongs -- just what you really need. And these wont scratch your non-stick or your stainless. And perhaps most important, you get the utensils plus the holder (I got mine on sale) for about what you'd ... Read More

- Very Happy
On the surface you might think these are "cheap".Nothing could be further from the truth. Each utensil is very sturdy and cleans up beautifully! The holder is very nice looking and also wipes clean easily with a damp cloth. These are a must for use with nonstick cookware.I wish it had a wisk with the set.

What can you say about a Bamboo Utensil Set other than these are as good a set as I have ever used.
I use these every day without any problems. The first thing I noticed when they arrived was the fact that unlike so many sets I have seen at the "Big Box Stores" these we sanded down without all the burrs and splinters you find in so many.
The holder is well made, handy and built heavy enough so as not to fall over easily.I also think the size of these tools are just right, the curve to ... Read More
