This is an absolute piece of junk. I just bought one, and literally just opened it. The second I pull the cord to extract the cable it tangles, wires stick out of the sides like an old cassette tape coming undone and it gets stuck. The wires are literally just in what looks to be a loose, hand-wrapped coil with a fake casing masking the bulk of it so it looks official. Rating: - great for the car
I specifically bought this cord to connect my iPod to my car's stereo system, and it works great. Being retractable makes it perfect for the car; it's easy, tangle-free storage.

I had some difficulty at first understanding how to get it to retract; however, it only took a few minutes to "master" the skill. It also sometimes retracts if I accidentally pull on it when reaching for my iPod, but that isn't a big deal.

Flimsy. Thin cord, small connectors, and very unreliable retraction mechanism. You get what you pay for.

I bought one for myself and one for a gift. I have been very pleased with the cable so far. My I-Pod sounds great through it and it extends and re-tracts just as it should. I have had it for about 6 months and have nothing but good things to say about it. The person I gave it to as a gift likes it just as much as I do.

I use it for my ipod in my car and its great...no more tangled wires. I bought a cheaper one before and it twisted itself from the inside and stoped working. No probs with this one.
