- Not hot enough for deep frying
Before firing this device up for the first use, I noticed how cheaply the product is constructed, not exactly a sign of quality kitchen appliances, but I figured that maybe I would be proven wrong.
My initialintuitions were correct. Perhaps I received a defective product, but this fryer would not get the oil to budge above 320 degrees fahrenheit within the allowed 30 minutes of operable time that is allowed by the the timer.

I should have taken heed - this Rival CZF630 deep fryer didn't have great reviews, but I did like the fact that it had a "filter" and a break away cord.(Hence, 1 star - rate the filter?Zero stars.)We used it 8 times; it no longer works and it is out of the return window.So we have this plastic covered can (the housing for the oil resivour is even garbage - impossible to remove oil from the finish of it)So at $60 and an 8 time usage, it would have been cheaper to go get junk food out.Save ... this deep fryer is great--it heats the oil quickly, and I absolutely love the fact that there is no spatter while cooking.

Purchased this product 3 months ago, looks great and easy to clean.
I tought I would be statisfied ...big mistake .
I have used around 3 to 5 times only ...now thermostat seems to not respond anymore ...it does not heat at all, because thermostat shows that oil is at right temp. all the time ...
I am really annoyed about this situation ...this is a brand New Item ..
electric part is totally defective.

I really want to like this deep fryer. But I am on my second one. Rival does stand by thier products. The first one I had, the knob broke off. They replaced the whole unit. I really only wanted a new knob. But anyway! They sent me a new one. I used the first one a couple more times with out using the knob which was reallyan on off and timer. I left it on the on mode when I unplug it. Not a big deal.
Hear is the part that really upsets me. The handle that raises the basket in and out ... Read More
