- Perfect fit, finally!
After unsuccessfully trying 3 different sets of head phones, I found my perfect fit! I use these for running and using the elliptical trainer. I do not like the hard circles that just rest in your ears (like the ones that come with your ipod). I do not like wires in my space! The last 2 criteria were the most difficult to meet in one set of headphones. The SuperFi 3 did it, wires go up over my ears and meet behind my neck. I can move my head and neck comfortably w/o pulling the buds out. The wire ... Read More

- Balanced Sound and Affordable
As many audiophiles have already mentioned, these are great canal earphones (or IEMs though they are only entry level). If you're a bass head and expecting thumping bass, look elsewhere.
I purchase these overseas in the summer of 2006 based on the feedback of the store's owner who also own a pair (and a pair of Super.fi 5s).He assured me they were great 'phones for the money and he had even gone scuba diving with them a few times.I went from cheap low-end earbuds and a pair of 20 ... - Love the sound
I bought 2 products from Ultimate Ears to compare them.
Ultimate Ears SuperFi 3 Studio Noise Isolating Earphones (Black)
Ultimate Ears SuperFi 5 Noise Isolating Earphones
I connected both to my MP3 player and let them "burned in" for 24 hours before testing them.
-Ultimate Ears SuperFi 3 Studio
The sound is perfect. It doesn't put out a lot of bass but it's right where I want it. Treble and high sounds nice and very accurate.

- Best earphones
These are the earphonesyou can exercise with; they stay in the ear. So many of the ear buds fall out when walking or running, but these earphones come with an assortment of ear buds to fit your ears - and to stay in place. Best ones without it costing an arm and a leg.

- Nice when they're not broken!
I like these headphones a great deal. The only issue is that after a couple of years of service, they both cracked and separated at the cable / case interface within about a month. The fracture was the same shape on both earpieces which leads me to believe this is a design flaw. The neck of the cable where it attaches to the earbud is a weak point, and needs to be beefed up.
Maybe they have strengthened the housing...I dunno. But going forward, I will be looking for another pair of earbuds ... Read More
