Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - this product is wonderful
I bought this tea maker for my boyfriend last year and I'm not exaggerating when I say that we use it everyday (maybe even twice a day) after one year of continuous work the little bugger is still going great! There are some obvious signs of use however, especially on the burner (from negligence in allowing the water to spill and what not) but it works fine just the same. I read a comment about it not steeping, which is true, but I don't think it makes that big of a difference. This Christmas I'm ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great little hot tea maker
This hot tea maker is great. It brings out the best in the flavor of my teas. It's easy to use and easy to clean, whether using tea bags or loose leaf. I'm ordering another one to have in my sewing room to save numerous trips upstairs when I want another cup. The sunbeam is well worth the money. It looks great in my kitchen too. I would definitely recommend it to my friends.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - not for tea
the 5-stars are not tea drinkers. a real cup of tea from loose leafs should steep anywhere from 3-5 minutes. meaning the leaves have to be immersed in water that has been BOILED for this time. this machine does what a coffeemaker does. it heats water to HOT, about 30 degrees under what it should be for tea. it then drips the water over the tea and immediately into the cup. not enough time for the "steeping" process. if you just want to drink tea to replace coffee and have no knowledge of what tea ... Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Stops working after about a year
I just tossed the second Tea Drop into the trash, after it quit working. The first one lasted about two years; the second expired in a year. Both suddenly stopped dripping heated water onto the tea and started aiming water at the back of the machine, which meant that hot water recirculated until it evaporated.I forgave Sunbeam the first time and purchased another machine, but this time they've lost me as a customer.

And, yes, it does make mediocre tea, especially if you use low quality ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Tea Maker
If you like Hot Tea, this is a great buy. It comes with its own infuser/strainer so it works with loose tea as well as tea bags. You have variable settings so you can adjust the strength of the tea it makes. I not only use it for flavored teas but also for making an herbal tea at bedtime. And, if you just want to make just one or two cups of cocoa or spiced cider, you can use it to heat the water and keep it hot.
Nothing like it for making tea though. Great gift for the tea lover.
