- Unreliable
This thing sounds wonderful ... when it works.
Problem is it only works for short time, then totally loses it's mind and freezes up my system. I can rarely listen to more than 6 songs in a row without total meltdown.
It is much better at ripping MP3's, but about 1 out of 25 songs need to be redone as the encoding causes MP3 players to skip huge sections of the song.
Save your money, buy something else.

- it does the job
well lets gets this straight I broght this sound card for a old p4 running at a decent 2.6 GHz 2GB of ram for a old dell 3800 and need a new sound card 2 run vista OS. the driver software won't work with vista have to go and download the lastest driver from diamond multmeida.Gave it to a friends mother and cost me $100 after minor upgrades. The sound won't blow you away ether spend more money else where or upgrade ur GPU card or mobo with better intergraded audio codic.

- Theater Quality
This card installed without any problems and gets the job done. I have never heard my computer sound better. The sound is theater quality. I would recomend this to a friend.

- A no brainer....
I was (and still am) stunned that such a product is available for $30.Installation was a snap, software is fantastic and the end result is brilliant. It completely completely blew away my expectations.I have the digital coax connected to a Yamaha sound bar and sound is excellent.DVD's, online shows are fantastic.
The software offers a lot of configuration options based on your speaker positions, strategy (5.1, 7.1).
It's excellent... end of story :)

- Inexpensive and works fine with Vista
I bought this sound card because the onboard 7.1 audio on my Dell Inspiron 630 desktop was outputting an annoying background hum at higher volume levels. I had this computer for a year and never noticed that hum before recently obtaining a new set of Logitech Z-5500 5.1 speakers. The new speakers are so good that it makes all audio flaws more obvious.
After considerable research I concluded (correctly) that this card would work well with Vista Home Premium (32 bit). I also wanted the ... Read More
