Rating: - It's really good, actually
It's really good for the price. I'm just writing this review to tell people some stuff not included here.
First: It has no power needs other than the power provided though the PCI slot.
Second: The actual card is smaller than the box, even though the "Package Size" and "Product Size" are different. The card itself is the usual size for a PCI card (as far as width goes). It is just a little longer than the slot itself.

This Item is just what I need it to be.I was able to link my computer sound to my STB input on my surround sound system.

Product is easy and straight forward to install, the software was easy to install. The card functions well, I've had no problems with this equipment. There are standard settings for the preferential sounds being produced along with ambience settings to make your system larger than it really is.

Thanks to everyone who posted reviews. You've helped me choose to buy this sound card used for eleven dollars. It's just what I needed, a nice improvement over my PC's AC97 on board sound and previous sound card, a SoundBlaster Live Value. I only use the XS71 with my 35 Ohm and 60 Ohm headphones, and it powers each well and to deafening volumes. I downloaded the drivers and software from Diamond's website. My PC has Windows XP Home SP3, ... Read More

Installed on XP SP3. Disable onboard sound in CMOS, install card, install software from CD. No hassle install, no glitches, no surprises. Allows for 8 speaker setup (have 4 speakers w/sub woofer). Works, sounds good.
Vast inprovement over onboard sound system.
