With a complete set of high performance features and expandable functionality, the Uniden TRU9485 offers a full set of convenient options for busy homes. This set includes one handset; the system is expandable to a total of ten. Call Waiting Caller ID includes a 100-station memory (with subscription to local service) that allows names and numbers to be transferred between handsets or moved into the permanent speed dial. DirectLink two-way radio communication is built into each handset, allowing them to function as an in-home intercom system or baby monitor. Redial any of the last three numbers at the touch of a button, activate three-way calls or just enjoy the consistent, clear 5.8 GHz digital signal transmission.
You can transfer incoming calls between the handset and base, and make use of the convenient hands-free design by using the included belt clip and built-in headset jack (headsets available separately). A page button lets you quickly locate the handset if it's strayed under the couch cushions.

works for distance more than 30 feet.
For people who are worried about proper functionality, setup, features etc etc...should download a user manual first from internet for free....read it and decide wheather it is right for you or not....
For me it was...easy to use....good sound quality....battery life is good too....It can support multiple handsets too....
I am satisfied with this one...

I used to do all my calling on a cell phone. I got a ground line after I moved to a neighborhood with crappy cellular reception. I bought this Uniden model at Target, along with one accessory handset. Incoming audio sounds fine on both. But people regularly complain that they can't understand me on the other end.
I have a wireless router nearby which may be interfering with the phone. I'm not going to get rid of Wifi in my house. DECT 6.0 systems are supposed to not suffer much interference ... Read More

This review is for the Uniden TRU9485 after a little over two months of use.Nice features, including the Do Not Disturb if you don't want to hear the phone ring.Answering machine has worked flawlessly. Sound quality from the speaker is fair to good. Fairly compact on the desk. The only two negatives for me would be that the unit seems flimsy due to the nearly all lightweight plastic construction and, in my opinion, the phone handset should be full size, since the only value I can see for a smaller cordless ... Have had this phone for about a week and just love it. It's a nice size and is easy to carry around.I bought a Panasonic 2.4mhz last year and that's nice also, but the Uniden is better. Very clear sound and I love that I can turn the ringer off. Haven't used the baby monitor yet, but it's a nice feature.Answering machine is easy to set up and I like that it beeps as well as blinks when there is a message. All in all very good value for the money.
