- Vista x64 beware!
I snatched this multifunction printer today for a very cheap $99.99 at Fry's. It seemed like a good deal at the time and I kept thinking to myself that it was too good to be true. Well, it might the best product ever...if your OS isn't a Vista 64-bit.
From the minute I put in the software disc for Vista I had problems right off the bat. The disc...is completely incompatible with 64-bit machines. You have to go to the Canon website to actually download the new drivers. That's OK. Problem ... Read More

- Perfect for my home
Going from a basic Canon MFC inkjet printer, this was a major upgrade for me. It's much much faster than my old inkjet, which was the most important feature for me. No wetness on the paper anymore, which I hated when using ink.
I would really love to have a good way of duplex printing though; it's really not easy.

Good Points:Much faster than inkjet
Good quality prints, although slightly less in toner saver mode
Haven't had a single paper jam yet
Bad Points: Multi-page faxing a hassle (I don't fax much)
Takes up a fair amount of space

I think this is an excellent value--it won't do color printing, but I'm sick of getting ripped off for ink cartridges:I'm willing to settle for grayscale.
The scanner is quite slow, but if you make sure to check the box "Display the Scanner Driver," you'll find pretty competent scanning functionality.
The warm-up time is amazingly fast, and the copy functions are solid.I haven't tried the fax functions.
