- Purrs like a kitten
..OK, well it does make a bit of noise (when I have guests in our spare room next to the kitchen, I have been known to take the blender into the bathroom to operate it in the mornings). And it does generate a smell of burned rubber -- just a hint -- while it's working. But this blender is a terrific addition to my household. We're now avid smoothie fans, and I'm saving money on lunches by making homemade soups in the blender. It's really easy to clean, too, which is important. And, it looks good. ... Read More

- Will NOT Last!!
The motor/base is great except for how the base fits to the pitcher...faulty design. Regardless of what is blended, regular use will cause the pitcher to crack. I only use it for protein shakes... no ice. I've had mine replaced twice and a third is on the way. Its out of warranty now and they will not replace again. It looks great and would last forever except for this. They should reinforce the pitcher design and supply owners with one that is not flawed.

- Very Pleased
Purchased the blender 1 week ago today (sat)from a local retailer and thought I got a good deal with their "sale" for $129 (w/tax).Immediately came home and looked on amazon and seen I was sorely mistaken.Ordered from Amazon the same day (used free shipping) and had the blender by wednesday.Amazon always impresses me with their fast delivery and well packaged products.I returned the original blender and am very happy with my purchase. The price on amazon has since dropped from $93 what i paid ... - leaking carafe and TERRIBLE customer service from Kitchenaid
I also had a leaking carafe problem, but unlike the gentleman who was able to get a replacement, despite his warranty being up, because they redesigned the carafe, Kitchenaid expected me to PURCHASE another carafe.
It had been leaking since I bought it, but at first I thought I just needed to tighten up the blade assembly. That would fix it for a little while and then it would leak again. I thought maybe I just wasn't able to tighten it enough so I kept trying. I don't use it everyday, so ... Read More

- Ahhhh....I'm in blender heaven!
Finally, a blender that actually does crush ice and not just a few cubes at a time, but a whole bunch.I have been through several blenders in search of a blender that actually crushes ice.Just because the button says "Crush Ice" does not mean the blender actually does it!This one does!Great smoothies and quick. The one-piece pitcher with built-in blade makes cleaning much easier. Also, the extra-wide pitcher allows for more room at the bottom so that ice cubes and chunks of fruit don't get jammed ...
