Yet Al's difficulties have the practical effect of sidelining him for a couple of episodes while the story sets up more complex power struggles. Al takes on Deadwood's other saloon-brothel owner, the unstable Cy Tolliver (Powers Boothe), as well as an off-screen millionaire who is intent on owning all the gold-mining interests by buying out weary prospectors' claims. Meanwhile, Seth's wife and son (actually, his late brother's widow and child) arrive, an unsettling development for Seth's lover, the widow Alma Garret (Molly Parker), who soon reveals herself to be a more complicated person than in the first season. The prostitute Trixie (Paula Malcomson) begins thinking about her future and asserts independence from Al by having sex with Seth's friend, Sol Star (John Hawkes). Consumers from outside of North America considering whether they will buy the Region 1 versions or the Region 2 & 4 versions of HBO's "Deadwood" and "Oz" may be interested to know that the Region 2 & 4 versions of these series do not contain audio commentaries.
If audio commentaries are an important feature for any fans of the series then I recommend purchasing the Region 1 versions. I do not know if any other HBO TV series have suffered the same fate as these ones ... Read More

Deadwood-The Complete 2nd Season.I priced this at various websites and by far, Amazon out-priced them all.Arrived in a few short days and after viewing turned around and sold it back on Amazon. Who wouldn't buy from Amazon.
