- Meodicre pot - I'd rather pay more for a better one
I use cast iron pots extensively, and wanted one in this particular size.It is as advertised, but it isn't great.The finish is poor - very rough surface, a lot of extra flash from the molding process, end edges are very rough from the coarse grinding cleanup they did at the factory.There are places where it is obvious the mold halves did not line up properly when they cast it - in the handle especially.The iron is a bit thin as well.The cover does not fit nicely - it rocks a bit and is ... The pan has defects in the rim and the loop. The rim is not uniform. It is wider in some places than others. The loop is not smooth. The pan also has flaking all over it. It's not clean, and it has rusty areas on it. Yes, you read it right, rust. I couldn't quite believe my eyes.
But to the seller's credit, when I called them about it, they were very courteous and apologetic and gave me a prompt refund including s&h. The clerk said that all the pans in their warehouse were just like the one ... Read More

We own a ton of Lodge cast iron.Literally, I think.So I was a little leery of trying another brand.But this Cajun Cookware pot was every bit the match for Lodge, which has no saucepots.Great finish, nice design.Finally, we can toss those expensive Calaphalon pots.The only disadvantage of cast iron is the weight, in every other respect (cooking performance, non-stick, cleanup, durability) cast iron beats everything else, including our unbelievably expensive Calphalon pots which are worn ...
