Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 3-1/2-Quart Buffet Casserole, Chestnut
from: Le Creuset
Product Description:
L2532-3029 3.5 Qt BuffetCasserole Brown
Amazon.com Review:
Beautiful enough to bring to the table and durable enough to outlive its 101-year warranty against defects, this heavy casserole is perfect for preparing and ceremoniously serving a dish such as baked pasta or braised short ribs. Use it in the oven or on the stovetop. Made of cast iron, with an exterior and interior clad in Le Creuset's famous bright enamel, the casserole holds 3-1/2 quarts and measures 12-1/4 by 14-1/2 by 5-1/4 inches. Cast iron is unexcelled for heat distribution and retention, so this casserole cooks foods evenly and gently without hot spots. The knob on its heavy, tight-fitting lid is ovenproof to 450 degrees F. Loop handles facilitate carrying, and the casserole is dishwasher-safe. Like all Le Creuset products, this casserole dish is made in France. --Fred Brack

- A Kitchen Must-Have!
This 3.5qt braiser is one of the most used pots in my kitchen.I have acollection of Le Crueset cast iron as well as some of Le Creuset's stainless steel pots, but this "buffet" pot is the one that stays put on my stove-top.
I use this for nearly everything - cooking any kinds of meat/poultry - burgers, steaks, anything - I love to use this to sear roasts and then right to the oven it goes! You will use this piece nearly every day - I promise! And it's such a great looking pot ... Read More

- Couldn't live without it. . .
I got a great new braising cookbook for Christmas and needed a wide, shallow covered cast iron pot to make many of the recipes.I love this braiser! No, it's not cheap but it's incredibly well made.I've already used it about 10 times in a month and it looks just like it did when I took it out of the box.The pic makes it look like the lid is a slightly different color than the rest which is not the case.Love the caribbean color. This is the perfect size for say 4 large bone-in pork chops, ... - Beautiful
Such a good looking pan,You just gaze at it and imagine what might be simmering so fragrantly....
I am a recent devotee of Le Crueset and I can honestly say I am a better cook because of it.You WANT to use these pieces.Yes, they do look pretty on a shelf but nothing is better than a dish your family thinks is great that you never would have thought of before, but somehow you were inspired by a pan.Of all things.
Yes, Le Crueset is that good.

- great replacement for non-stick saute pan
I bought this pan when I decided to get rid of all my teflon pans. This makes a great replacement to a long-handled "saute pan." It doesn't have a long handle, because it's too heavy to pick up with one hand! But it has turned out to be my favorite and most versatile pan. I saute in it, braise, make pancakes, roast a chicken, just about anything. The surface area of the pan is very large, so you can brown 4 chicken breasts at once, for example.
My favorite way to use this pan is to brown ... Read More

- My favorite pot
This is an incredibly versatile pot.If you're going to get just one piece of Le Creuset, I would go with this (even over my beloved 5 1/2 quart dutch oven!)For me, it does everything I used to do in my dutch oven plus more. It's heavy, browns beautifully, distributes and retains heat evenly, and goes from the stovetop to the oven and back with no problems.I use it like a large skillet for stir fries and veggies, as a roasting pan, for browning and braising meat, and to make gorgeous paellas with ...
