Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - What you see is what you get
For those of you who are thinking of purchasing this machine and are wondering whether or not to believe the 5-star reviews or the 1-star reviews, let me assure you that if you follow the instructions provided, this machine absolutely works. You do not need a special freezer or any prior experience using ice cream makers.

I got mine about a week ago and have used it twice. The first time, I froze the bowl in my refrigerator's freezer compartment for about 20 hours.I mixed up the ... Read More

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Be Creative
I read the reviews, and yes, you get what you pay for. This is a great price, but you must make your own recipes. The simple chocolate recipe is horrible, waaay to much cream (causes tummy ache). So if you have the time to 'experiment' in the kitchen, it is a cool product. My advice:freeze the bowl like everyone says but also, you MUST refrigerate your mix as well before you pour it in.Also, there is only a short window from when your ice cream dispenses properly 30-40mins, then it's hard, ... Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Very disappointed; would not recommend the Cuisinart Soft Serve Ice Cream Maker
We bought the Cuisinart soft serve ice cream maker for our daughter's 13th birthday.she was so excited and it was beautifully packaged; the photos of the ice cream looked exquisite.
The reality is quite different. We followed the instructions carefully; froze the bowl overnight, etc etc.We mixed the first flavor, started to mix and the motor overheated in less than ten minutes and stopped. We read the instructions carefully and lo and behold there is a warning that if the ice cream starts ... Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Machine
Great machine for the price.Works great as long as you follow the directions.I tried to make back to back batches, but that wouldn't work, so the basin is only good for one batch of ice cream at a time without refreezing for twelve more hours. But overall, a very good machine for the price.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great soft serve maker
This is a great freezer bowl for making soft serve!I bought an extra one because the key is that you just have to have it in the freezer for at least 24 hours to make sure it is totally frozen. It does not retain its coldness to make a second batch, and it isn't supposed to.It is fun being able to make soft serve ice cream at home.
